Kevin Rutledge grew up in Fort Worth, Texas, where he met his wife Sundi in the 9th grade! They’ve been married for 17 years, and have been serving in ministry together in some capacity for their entire marital life. Kevin came to Christ in early high school. His relationship with God quickly healed a great deal of anger, depression, and sinful tendencies. He became passionate for God and the study and application of His Biblical Word to us. Kevin went on to get a B.A. Degree in Biblical Studies at Dallas Baptist University, then earned an M.A in Theology at Southwestern Theological Seminary. While hoping to pursue a PhD in Philosophy of Religion, he and his wife received the wonderful news that they would have their first of four children. Through this and other circumstances, God led them to begin serving in the church instead of the academy. Kevin went on to serve in ministry in rural East Texas, urban El Paso, Texas, and suburban Fort Worth, Texas, before moving to Utah where he hopes to settle down for as long as God will allow. He loves the Utah mountains, hiking, reading, swing dancing, music, movies, a good series on Netflix, long conversations about God, and spending time with his biological family as well as his spirutal family at Redeemer Orem.
Minister of Worship
Anson grew up in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born into a Christian family, where he heard of the grace of Christ frequently at a young age. He decided to surrender to and follow Christ early in life. Still, he remembers times in his younger years when certain churches and Christians attempted to give the impression to the world that they were without sin, coming across as hypocritical and arrogant. This disturbed Anson, but ultimately a new passion grew from this negative example. He appreciated even more the humble beauty and grace of Christ that accepts sinners that could never measure up. He wants everyone to understand that we’re all the same: Sinful strugglers. Nonetheless, Jesus will accept us and love us despite our sin, and will love us all the way out of the sins that chain us. Anson moved to Orem to attend UVU, where He studies Commercial Music. He simply wanted to help start Redeemer Church and serve however he could. He did not think he’d end up as the worship minister, but we’re all incredibly glad that God is using him in this way! Anson plays guitar, bass, percussion and occasionally goes back to his saxophone roots. He loves being a part of multiple bands, working as a techie, and is known for his love for climbing, usually without ropes, the canyons and slopes of Utah’s mountains!
